There are movies. There is music. There are musicals. And then there are movies about music. Here are some of the best! In my humble opinion.
Based on the life of writer/director Cameron Crowe and his time writing for “Rolling Stone,” this story about a teenage journalist on tour with a 70’s rock band on their rise to fame has everything. Great characters, heartfelt story, and great music, naturally.
A lot can happen when you work at a record store. Follow a group of employees on the ups and downs of one day at work. Anything can happen, and almost everything does.

Tom Hanks’ directorial debut is just fun. Good cast, funny story, and catchy tunes.
Jeff Bridges proved once and for all why he’s lasted in Hollywood as long as he has. He’s good. And the guy can sing too.

It’s the 1970’s and your mom just burned your tickets to KISS. What would you do? Four friends go on and epic adventure in hopes of joining the KISS army.
Mr. Holland’s Opus
Well-written tale about a high school music teacher and his career over several decades gets me every time.
